- Object Information:
- Reflection nebula NGC 1977, NGC 1973 and NGC 1975 and open cluster NGC 1981
- This colorful group of reflection nebula are located just north of Messier 42 and Messier 43, which can be partially seen at the bottom of this image. This group of reflection nebula is sometimes collectively called the Running Man Nebula or the Ghost Nebula.
- This image is a cropped and higher resolution portion of my wide field image of Orion Nebula region.

- Shelter Valley, San Diego County, California.
- Elevation - 2500 feet

- Optics - Takahashi E-160 at f/3.3
- Mount - Astro-Physics 1200GTO,
- Camera - SBIG STL-11000M

- The final image above is a composite of 30 second, 1 minute and 6 minute exposures. Short exposures were layered into the image with multiple layer masks with Photoshop CS4 to improve the detail of the central portion of the nebula.
