Hickson Compact Group 44 - NGC 3185, NGC 3187, NGC 3190, NGC3193

  Object Information:

 

The distant quartet of galaxies NGC 3193 [upper left], NGC 3190 [near center], NGC 3187 [upper center] and NGC 3185 [lower right] comprise the compact group of galaxies known as Hicksons Compact Group 44.  NGC 3193 is an elliptical galaxy while the remaining three members are various forms of spiral galaxies.  The distance to these galaxies is approximately 100 million light years.
