NGC 7000

  Object Information:

 

NGC 7000 (The North American Nebula),

Constellation - Cygnus

Distance -  an estimated 3,000 light years,

 

This emission nebula lives up to its name. The Pelican Nebula can also be seen to the lower right with the "Pelican" looking toward NGC 7000.  This object can be seen through binoculars as a milky patch east of the star Deneb in Cygnus.

Mount - Losmandy G-11
Camera - Nikon FM,
Film - Kodak Ektachrome E200, pushed one stop

  Exposure Information:

 

July 22, 2001

An average of 4 stacked exposures of 30 minutes each for a total exposure time of 120 minutes,

  Image Processing Software:

 

RegiStar, Photoshop 8 ,

All data frames were scanned at 4000 dpi with a Polaroid Sprint Scan 4000 then registered and stacked with RegiStar.   Final processing with Photoshop 8.
