  Object Information:

 

NGC 891 is a fine example of a spiral galaxy seen edge-on.  The estimated distance to NGC 891 is 10 million light years and its visual brightness is 10.1 mag.  More information on NGC 891 can be found at http://www.seds.org/messier/xtra/ngc/n0891.html

Camera - Santa Barbara Instrument Group (SBIG) ST-10XME NABG CCD,

Luminance - a sum of eighteen, eight minute exposures for a total exposure time of 2.4 hours.

RGB - 6 x eight minute exposures for each color channel at 2x2 binning.
